What happens if I'm no longer a CNLBank customer?
Q. Do you sell or share my customer information with outside companies?
A. CNLBank does not sell or share your customer information with any person, company, or organization, except in legally permitted circumstances (for example, responding to a court order or reporting to the credit bureau.) We believe our customers have this expectation of privacy and we intend to honor it.
Q. Who is covered by this privacy pledge and why is it being provided to me?
A. This pledge applies to you as a valued customer of CNLBank. All CNLBank employees are bound by this policy and pledge to safeguard your privacy. We are providing this statement to you in accordance with your rights as our customer, and to ensure that you have peace of mind about your information.
Q. What is considered "customer information" and how does CNLBank collect it?
A. Customer information includes all of the information about you that CNLBank collected in the course of providing or offering services to you. It may include information that would also be available from public sources, such as a listed phone number, and it may include the following types of routine non-public information:
- Information that you record on applications or other account forms, such as your name, address, email address, social security number, assets, income, securities holdings and beneficiary information
- Records retained from your transactions with CNLBank and our affiliates, such as account balances, payment history and account usage
- Credit information obtained from consumer reporting agencies or other creditors
- Information requested from other parties, as authorized by you, such as verification of employment or verification of deposits
Q. What are legally permitted disclosures to third parties?
A. There are certain circumstances, as required or permitted by law, when customer information may be disclosed to third parties (for example, information to be shared in the course of administering your day-to-day banking business with us, to offer you financial products and services, or if requested by you). We want to ensure you understand when these exceptions apply, and why. All of the customer information we collect, as described above, may be disclosed to the following types of third parties:
- Companies that we hire to provide services for our customers and us. CNLBank may enter into agreements with carefully selected companies or service providers to assist us with providing superior service and to expand the availability of financial products or services offered to you. We also contract with specialized firms to service and administer some of our products and services. Please be assured that all of these companies enter into written confidentiality agreements to protect your customer information and to use it only for the authorized purposes intended.
- Other entities as necessary to administer your banking transactions. Your customer information may be disclosed as necessary to process a transaction requested, initiated or authorized by you (for example, providing funds verification or loan payoff information). We may also share your information with a bank-approved appraiser or attorney in order to facilitate your loan requests.
- Consumer reporting agencies. We will share your credit information with reputable consumer reporting agencies.
- Legal process. As required by law, CNLBank will comply with customer information requests through properly executed court orders, such as garnishments, levies, summonses and subpoenas. CNLBank also participates in federal and state child support mandates.
Q. Do you share my medical or health information?
A. We will not share medical or health information, except to process transactions or to provide services that you have requested or initiated. We will not share this information with third parties, unless required by law.
Q. How do you keep my information safe?
A. We follow strict information security procedures designed to protect the confidentiality of your information. Access to your information is restricted to employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to safeguard your customer information.
Q. What about Internet Banking, how is that protected?
A. CNLBank's Internet Banking products use the latest encryption technology to secure your data over the Internet. For your protection, CNLBank uses 128-bit encryption throughout our Internet Banking site. CNLBank servers are physically secured and monitored 24-hours a day and are protected by Internet firewalls.
